The Yakiba (Japanese: Cutting Edge) were an advanced branch and agency of the Japanese military that was responsible for matters of security. At some point, Sunfire joined the ranks of the organization where he served as a Mutant operative. The Yakiba were on the hunt for Mystique when she was in Japan with their operatives looking to apprehend her.
